Cost effective dental insurance is the way to go. Ameriplan, dent-all and $10 month types are great for easy discounts. Be careful on where you may end up. Always check out the dentists, because they don't always take the coverage, even if they are on the list. Some say they are just trying to get the phone to ring. Others just don't  discount it as they are supposed to.
